
In the spirit of sportsmanship and unity, the Headquarters Eastern Naval Command has organised an Inter-Agency Volleyball Tournament at the Nigerian Navy Ship Victory Volleyball Court, Calabar.
The event was part of the activities marking the Nigerian Navy’s 69th anniversary celebrations.
The spectacular event brought together top-notch athletes from the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force and Nigerian Police Force, showcasing their exceptional skills and prowess.
In attendance were the Chief Staff Officer, Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral DM Ndanusa, who represented the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Eastern Naval Command, the Commander Eastern Fleet, Rear Admiral KO Oguntuga, Commander Nigerian Navy Ship VICTORY and other senior officers.
It was disclosed that the objective of the tournament was to promote athletic excellence, reinforce the bonds of unity and mutual respect and demonstrate the true spirit of service among security agencies.

In his keynote remarks, Rear Admiral Ndanusa emphasized that the strength of their operations and defense lies not only in individual prowess but also in collaboration and teamwork, extending beyond the court to everyday service to the nation.
The kick off shot was taken by Rear Admiral Ndanusa who represented the flag officer commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Saheed Akinwande.
After an exciting series of matches, the Eastern Naval Command team emerged victorious, followed closely by the Nigerian Police Force team in second place, the Nigerian Air Force team and Nigerian Army team secured third and fourth places, respectively.
The event culminated in a grand finale, with the declaration of the winner, presentation of medals and the cup, there were also commemorative group photographs to mark the event.
