The Nri Kingdom in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State has generously donated four plots of land to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command for the construction of a training facility and an office complex for its Area D Command Headquarters.
According to the Head of Media & Tactical Ops of the Command, SC Okadigbo Edwin, “The donation was made during a ceremony held at the Nri Community on Friday, July 12, 2024, where the community leaders handed over the plots of land and the office complex to the NSCDC.
“The NSCDC Anambra State Commandant, Comdt. Maku Olatunde, on behalf of the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, thanked the community for their kind gesture and promised to redouble the command’s efforts to fight insecurity and vandalization of the government’s critical national assets and infrastructure.

“Comdt. Olatunde also acknowledged the long-time support of the NrI community to the NSCDC, saying, “This donation is just one example of your commitment to the Corps, and we are not taking it for granted.”
“The donated land will be used to build a state-of-the-art training facility that will enhance the capacity of NSCDC personnel in carrying out their duties, while the office complex will serve as the headquarters for the Area D Command, which covers Anaocha, Idemili North and Idemili South local government area respectively.
“Earlier, the President General of Nri Progress Union Chief Dr. Anayo Okafor, expressed his gratitude to the NSCDC for their tireless efforts in ensuring the safety and security of the Ndi Anambra. He described the NSCDC as a valuable partner to the Nri community and has witnessed firsthand the positive impact of the Corps’ resilience in delivering on its mandate.
“In his speech, the Regent of Nri, Prince Ikenna Onyeso, commended the efforts of the Corps in tackling security challenges at the grassroots and urged the NSCDC to keep up its diligence in service delivery, saying that NRI town was ready to offer support at all times.
“The event was attended by dignitaries from the Nri community and the NSCDC, including Deputy Commandant Akaachia, Head of Technical Services, NSCDC Anambra State Command.”
