The Commandant, Nigera Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Lagos State Command, Commandant Eweka Douglas Okoro, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit on the Commander, 9 Brigade Nigerian Army in his office at Ikeja Cantonment.
The visit was in line with the commandant’s intention to broaden the level of synergy between the Corps and other Security Services in the state.
Eweka appreciated the Nigerian Army for the wonderful roles they have played in the areas of training and capacity building amongst other things at the formative stage of the Corps.
He also used the opportunity to express his willingness and readiness to work with the Army and other services and formations in order to combat any form of insecurity in the state.
The Commandant also emphatically stated that the Command is ready to fully ensure the protection of oil pipelines and other critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.
The Commander, 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Mayirenso Saraso, said the visit would further strengthen inter-agency collaboration in the state noting that the familiarisation visit would enhance the security architecture of the state.
Brigadier General Saraso craved for a more cordial relationship amongst the security agencies in the state adding that he would ensure a good working relationship with the Nigera Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command as the Corps remains one of the critical stakeholders in the security industry.
He affirmed that in the security business, no security organization knows it all. Therefore, the need for all Security Services and Agencies to learn from each others’ areas of competence is germaine and significant.
