Ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UMTE) scheduled to commence on Thursday, April 24, 2025, across the country, the Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Maku Olatunde A has ordered the deployment of personnel to provide security for the smooth and hitch-free examination across the state.

Briefing the Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Formations and Composite Commanders on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the State Command Headquarters Awka, the State NSCDC boss said the personnel would respond promptly to duty calls, provide security for the critical infrastructure, prevent intrusion of unwanted persons and uphold the integrity of the examination in all the 33 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers across the state.

He directed that personnel arrive at the centers before 6:00 am each day, emphasizing their key role in screening candidates for prohibited items and maintaining a serene environment throughout the examination period.

Comdt. Maku tasked them to caution operatives assigned to the CBT centers to strictly adhere to the guidelines governing the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination and maintain utmost professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

The NSCDC State helmsman warned against unauthorized persons loitering around designated CBT exam centers and advised candidates against bringing prohibited items, emphasising the command’s commitment to arrest and prosecute anyone found wanting, as stated in a statement by the Head, Media and Tactical Ops, SC Okadigbo Edwin.
