The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has promoted 113 Deputy Commandants (DCCs) to the rank of full Corps Commandant (CC), marking a significant morale boost within the paramilitary agency.
Among the beneficiaries of the promotion is CC Ngozi Theodora Okeke, who has expressed gratitude and excitement over her elevation, describing it as a major milestone in her professional career.

The promotion ceremony took place on Thursday at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja, where the newly promoted officers were formally decorated.
Speaking at the event, the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Audi, disclosed that some of the promoted officers had remained on the same rank for between eight and ten years. He attributed the breakthrough to the support and magnanimity of the Minister of Interior and his team, who approved the clearing of the backlog of long-overdue promotions.
Professor Audi further assured personnel that more promotions would follow in subsequent exercises, in line with the Minister’s commitment to addressing stagnation within the Corps.

Reacting to her promotion, Commandant Okeke expressed appreciation to the NSCDC leadership and pledged to continue upholding the ethics, discipline, and core values of the Corps. She noted that the elevation would further inspire her dedication to service.
