The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, and UNIZIK 94.1 FM have pledged their commitment to collaborate on information management and enlightenment programmes that would promote peace and security in the State.
The State Commandant of NSCDC in Anambra State Command, Mr. Everestus C. Obiyo, who played host to a delegation of Management of the radio station led by Mr. Ekene Ezeumeanya, on a familiarisation visit to the State Command Headquarters Awka, expressed delight at the visit saying NSCDC need to work closely with the radio station in showcasing the activities of the Command to the public due to its wide coverage.
Comdt Obiyo appreciated the robust cooperation the Command has enjoyed working with the media since their role in combating crime cannot be overemphasized.
He, therefore, called on UNIZIK 94.1 FM to use its platform to educate the public on the dangers of crime and criminality assuring the command’s speedy response to security threats in the State.
According to him, “the promotion of peaceful environment is everybody’s responsibility and the media industry plays a pivotal role in accomplishing the task”.
Earlier, Mrs. Amaka Moneke, the Station Marketing Coordinator stated that Unizik 94.1 FM has been at the forefront of propagating peace, unity and will not hesitate to collaborate with NSCDC.
She commended the effort of NSCDC in the State which prompted their visit to explore areas of cooperation through radio talk that will enlighten and project activities of the Command across the State.
