The founder and general overseer of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, has decried the weakening of Nigeria’s economy, saying only an Igbo presidency can bring about a total restoration.
Prophet Ohanaemere who is popularly known as Odumeje (‘The Lion’), also called for the support of other ethnic regions, political and religious organisations for the actualization of an Igbo president come 2023. He stated this last Saturday in Abia State when he paid a courtesy visit to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Senate Chief Whip and former governor of Abia State, at his Camp Neya residence, Igbere, Bende local government area of the state.
“It’s our time and we are competent. Where we are now… is competency. We are qualified and capable to take over the position of leadership in this country. We are the ones that can restore the economy of Nigeria from its devastating state. We are the ones that can fix it. We are the ones that will make the economy of Nigeria to be good and enjoyable again. Igbo people are competent to take over the country and this is our time,” he declared.
The Onitsha-based clergy’s visit came days after Senator Kalu made first entrance into the Southeast following his release from Kuje custodial centre. The clergy’s visit also coincided with a period when groups and individuals are calling on Sen. Kalu to vie for the office of the president in the 2023 general election. Prophet Odumeje also declared the Senate Chief Whip is qualified to take over the number one job in the country. He further stated that the Igbo presidency in 2023 is a divine mandate and a moving train, adding that, “nothing can stop it.”
In response Senator Kalu, who could not hide his joy, expressed gratitude to Prophet Odumeje for finding time to visit him. He also promised to return his gesture to the cleric during his tour to Onitsha in due course.
