…SAYS ALLEGATION OF CRIMINALS AT DUTSEN KURA COMMUNITY A HOAX

In order to bridge the communication gap and further make it possible for members of the public to reach troops of Operation Safe Haven and report a criminal presence in their community, the Commander, Maj Gen Ali has released four Hotlines to the public.
According to him, it becomes necessary for all law-abiding citizens to continue to give credible and timely information to support our operations by using the following helplines: 08021212139, 08090498333, 08149000091, 08074633336.
It was gathered that Operation SAFE HAVEN had received information indicating the presence of criminals/militia at Dutsen Kura community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Consequent upon that, the Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Maj Gen IS Ali immediately ordered troops to move to the area to ascertain the veracity of the information and clear the area of the criminals/militia.
However, after combing the area, the troops arrived Dutsen Kura and engaged with the community leaders, scanned the general area and confirmed that there were no criminals/militia harbouring or stockpiling weapons in the community.
The Military Information Officer, Major Ishaku Takwa said in a statement that “Notwithstanding the confirmation, Operation SAFE HAVEN has intensified surveillance and intelligence gathering effort to mitigate the activities of criminals/militia in Plateau State.
“In this regard, urged every law-abiding citizen to continue to give credible and timely information to support our operations.
Maj Takwa assured members of the public and people of Plateau State that Operation SAFE HAVEN will not abandon the people at such challenging times and would continue to make sacrifices to protect the lives and property of all.
