…SEMA PROVIDES RELIEF FOR IDPS
As part of efforts to restore peace and stability across Taraba State, Headquarters 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) has launched a special operation codenamed OPERATION ZAFIN WUTA, designed to strengthen both kinetic and non-kinetic measures in Southern Taraba.
The operation started on Saturday, 22nd November 2025, with humanitarian, operational, and strategic engagement activities across Takum and Wukari Local Government Areas.
Disclosing this in Taraba State, the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Umar Muhammad said that the Commander 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, was accompanied by the Executive Secretary of the Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Echuseh Audu, and the Chairman of Takum LGA, Mr. Benjamin Bako, visited Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) locations at 93 Battalion Mammy Market, Kufai-Amadu and Chanchanji in Takum LGA, where palliatives and essential relief materials were distributed.

Addressing the IDPs, Brig Gen Uwa sympathized with them over the criminal activities that displaced them from their ancestral communities and reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Army, through 6 Brigade, to eliminate all criminal elements and restore lasting security.
He further urged the locals to provide timely and credible information to support ongoing operations.
Community leaders expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army, SEMA, and the Taraba State Government for their intervention and support, while appealing for sustained efforts that would enable their safe return home.
Continuing the day’s activities, Brig Gen Uwa led troops in a Show of Force across Takum town, Kufai-Amadu, Chanchanji, and parts of Wukari LGA. He also paid a courtesy visit to the Aku Uka of Wukari, His Royal Majesty Manu Ishaku Ada Ali, accompanied by the Executive Secretary of SEMA and her team.

The Commander briefed His Majesty on the ongoing multidimensional approach under Operation ZAFIN WUTA and sought royal blessings and support in mobilising credible intelligence for successful operations.
In his response, the Aku Uka commended Brigadier General Uwa for initiating Operation ZAFIN WUTA, noting that the initiative would contribute significantly to restoring lasting peace in Wukari and neighbouring communities. He pledged full cooperation with the Brigade, especially in mobilising community support for the operation.
The activities across Takum and Wukari reaffirm the commitment of 6 Brigade and its partners to protect communities, support vulnerable populations, and foster peace across Taraba State. Operation ZAFIN WUTA continues to record steady progress, combining operational resolve with humanitarian engagement for maximum impact.
