The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has decorated 41 officers of the command who was promoted recently.
Speaking during the decoration exercise in Ibadan, Oyo State, the Command Area Comptroller, Mrs. Helen Uche-Ngozi urged the newly promoted officers to ensure greater efficiency and diligence in carrying out their duties.
She said, “To whom much is given, much is expected. You have to double your effort in all aspects of our operations. In doing this, you have to work assiduously with the vision of the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Ali Hameed.”
“We have a duty to enhance economic growth and development through revenue collection for the government and suppression of smuggling to promote national security.”
She stressed, “Be alert always, give attention to details and procedures of the Service. Also, be resourceful and innovative to ensure best practice in line with the global trend of Customs operations.”
In the same vein, promoted officers commend Comptroller Ngozi for her visionary and exemplary leadership in coordinating the affairs of the Command.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Akpan, in Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU), promoted from Assistant Comptroller to Deputy Comptroller, described Compt. Ngozi as intelligent, disciplined and a good team leader.
He said, “The CAC is result oriented and it has shown in her administrative style. As you entered this Command, I’m sure you observed how beautiful and presentable Oyo/Osun Command looks now. The total transformation of this Command from the gate to the parade group, even up to the conference rooms is made possible by the leadership ingenuity of Compt. Ngozi. She took over the Command this year and within a short time, the Command is wearing a new look. Also, in Oyo/Osun Command, we work as a team, following the exemplary leadership approach of our boss.”
