Participants at the Public Service Innovation Challenge representing the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, who clinched the top three positions to emerge first, second and third winners of the competition among 168 participants nationwide, have been digitally empowered. This was contained in statement by Uwa Suleiman, spokesperson of the minister, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, under whose purview the ministry falls, expressed satisfaction at the feat while presenting them with digital tools in his office on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. He affirmed that the ministry was proud of the achievement and that “the federal government will continue to support innovation and innovators that is why in addition to the monetary prizes won by our able teams, we are also presenting them with Laptops to further encourage and support their drive”.
The winning teams presented with Laptops by Dr Pantami include; Sogunro Oyindamola and Iliya Abdurrahman who won the first prize for developing a software solution that provides a reliable platform for organization, Oluwaseun Winsala and Francis Ebire came second with their Digital ID Wallet Block chain solution, while Zainab Saka and Tolulope Ibitoye came third with an effective reward system for civil servants. The maiden edition of the competition organized by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation also saw the Ministry carting away the fourth and fifth positions at the competition.
It will be recalled that the competition is aimed at promoting innovation in the public service.
