Pathfinder International, a non-profit organization has recognized the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), for its participation and commitment to the Empowered Choices (ECHO), project.
The Director-General of FEMA, Alhaji Abbas Garba Idriss who received the award in his office in Abuja, commended Pathfinder International for positively impacting the youths at the Durumi Area 1 IDPs settlement in the FCT.
He said, “This is the biggest thing that you have ever done for this Nation. When we catch them young, the impact we make is so great. We will try as much as possible to support Pathfinder International to sustain what you have done, if not it will go to waste”.
According to a statement by the FEMA’s Head of Public Relations Unit, Nkechi Isa, the DG assured of his commitment to partner with Pathfinder International in its programmes.
Earlier, the Programme Officer, Pathfinder International, Mallam Yusuf Nuhu said the Award was in recognition of FEMA’s collaboration, partnership, and proper implementation exhibited by the Agency towards the ECHO project to achieve the set goal and target audience.
The ECHO project which was aimed to improve the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents in the Durumi Area 1 IDP settlement and ensure they make healthy transitions commenced in August 2021 and elapsed in March 2022.
