An Inspector of Police, identified as Maxwell Zabu, has been reported to have committed suicide in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The heinous act was said to have taken place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, as the serving police officer, allegedly committed the act at his Eagle Island residence in Port Harcourt.
It was gathered that Zabu shot himself in his room without justifiable reason.
Before his death, Zabu was said to be a very dedicated officer to his duty, who served as a close aide to Hon. Victor Ihunwo, the former Mayor of Port Harcourt.
With many people expressing sorrow and disbelief over his tragic end, colleagues and acquaintances praised Zabu’s character, leaving many people transfixed as to why the tragic circumstance played out.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command is yet to released an official statement regarding the incident.
