Mother’s luck was unfriendly with three suspected armed robbers who have been terrorising the Ajah area, Lagos State, as they were arrested at about 1240hrs at the Ajah underbridge on Thursday.
All the male suspects were identified as Emeka George, 30 years, Ahmed Balogun, 23 years, and Bolaji Elewuro, who is 29 years.
It was learnt that the Anti-Crime patrol team attached to Ajah Divisional Police Headquarters, Ajah, Lagos, while on routine patrol, intercepted a silver-coloured Honda City vehicle with registration number: GGE 288 GV with the three occupants.
Confirming the arrest, the Lagos State Police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said that “an exhibition of conscientiousness, the operatives on reasonable suspicion conducted a courteous search on the occupants of the vehicle and in the process recovered one locally-made pistol with three live cartridges.
The suspects were immediately moved to the station where a preliminary investigation has commenced.
In the light of the above scenario, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Abiodun Alabi, had assured of safety and security of Lagosians adding that every required step would be taken to tackle insecurity.
The suspects and exhibits would be transferred to the CP Special Squad for a more discreet investigation.
