Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have recovered 75 mobile gadgets and five laptops allegedly abandoned by fleeing suspects during a routine patrol around Allen Roundabout, Ikeja.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the recovery took place at about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, when RRS operatives on early-morning patrol sighted two suspects carrying large “Ghana Must Go” bags who immediately took to their heels upon spotting the police.
Upon inspection of the bags, the operatives discovered 32 iPhones of different models, 38 other smartphones, including Samsung, Redmi, Tecno, and Honor brands, as well as five laptops, smart wristwatches, AirPods, a Samsung Tab, a Sorapad, and several damaged phones suspected to be stolen.
The RRS Commander, CSP Shola Jejeloye, stated that preliminary investigations indicate the items were stolen properties hurriedly abandoned by the suspects during their escape. He called on members of the public who have recently lost their devices to visit the RRS Headquarters in Alausa with verifiable proof of ownership to aid proper identification and retrieval.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Moshood Jimoh, commended the RRS team for their vigilance, professionalism, and prompt response. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to proactive policing, intelligence-driven operations, and the continuous protection of lives and property across the state.
