POLICE RECOVER TRACAS SHUTTLE

Anambra State Police Command operatives attached to the Obosi Divisional Headquarters on May 17, 2025, recovered a stolen shuttle bus with Reg No: AGU 651 ZL belonging to the Transport Company of Anambra State, popularly known as TRACAS, at Nkwelle, Oyi Local Government Area.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Operatives swung into action following a distress call to the State Police Command Control Room by the driver on how the five-man armed criminal gang disguised themselves as passengers and dispossessed him of a cash sum of Twenty thousand Naira (N20,000) only and the shuttle bus.

Consequently, the Operatives acted swiftly and alerted the necessary security checkpoints to deny the criminals access to escape. This forced the hoodlums to abandon the vehicle at Slaughter Junction, in Nkwelle, and flee through a nearby bush.

He said the security patrols have been intensified in the area to enhance safety and nip to the bud any untoward situation and for the possible arrest of the fleeing suspects.

Similarly, Police Operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad Enugu-Ukwu on the evening of May 17, 2025, foiled a kidnapping attempt and recovered the victim’s vehicle at Isuaniocha.

The kidnapping gang of five operating in a black-coloured Toyota Corolla double-crossed the victim at Amatu village, Agulu. It abducted him with his black Lexus 350 SUV before the Police were alerted. The operatives in a technology-driven manhunt on the criminals made them abandon the victim and the vehicle on the road at Isuaniocha and flee. The victim has been debriefed and is in safe custody.

To this end, the Operatives are currently working on the necessary information available to dislodge the kidnapping gang and have stepped up security surveillance in the area for the possible arrest of the suspect and to nip any untoward situation in the bud.
