…AS IGP CONDEMNS KILLING
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered immediate investigation, arrest, and prosecution of all the culprits that gruesomely murdered Ahoada Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Bako Angbashim in Rivers State.
SP Bako Angbashim was murdered on Friday night, 8th September, 2023 about 8:30 pm while carrying out an operation.
According to the Force Police Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a statement on Saturday in Abuja that the IGP said those who carried out the heinous and barbaric act should be hunted down, adding that such an act is not only an affront on our national status but also a reflection of a lack of patriotism and gross illegality.
As a result, IGP Egbetokun condemned the gruesome murder of SP Bako Angbashim, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ahoada Division in Rivers State.
It was learnt that the slain DPO was humiliated and mutilated by the hardened armed criminals after gruesomely killing him.
The IGP, while emphasizing unequivocally that such nefarious acts against any operative in Nigeria, will not be taken with fun as all the perpetrators will be caused to face the full wrath of the law, extends his deepest condolences to the grieving family, dedicated colleagues, and friends of SP Bako Angbashim urging them to embody his dedication, humility, and selflessness.
