CP Salami was reacting to the arrest in Ore of a suspected kidnapper and robber on Monday and, who on interrogation said, his gang earlier in the month, robbed a Hummer bus with registration number Gombe: NFD 591 XA, and kidnapped the driver and conductor in Gombe State.
The suspect further revealed that, to enable him flee from Gombe State after the robbery and kidnapping, he had to repaint the Hummer bus and fixed a forged number plate Kogi: XA 451 AN with which he drove to the South Western part of the country which makes it difficult for the security agents to arrest him and recover the loots.
The police boss explained in Ondo state in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro that he was particularly moved by the recent kidnap incident in Akoko area of the State, hence he ordered his men to comb every nooks and crannies of the State including every forest in and around to ensure that the perpetrators of the crimes are brought to justice.
He further stated that with the order, led to the rescue of a lady that was kidnapped earlier in the day around Akoko axis and the arrest of the kidnapper from Gombe state and the recovery of the vehicle.
CP Salami, however, said, this would not have been so easy without credible intelligence gathering and the supports of the good people of Ondo State.
Accessing the assistance of other sister- agencies and the support of the indigenes, CP Salami added that, “It is so obvious that the people of Ondo State and other security agencies are Police friendly.”
He solicited for the support and cooperation of Ondo people during the forthcoming election in the state.
