The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Anambra State Chapter, has paid a thank-you visit to the Anambra State Police Command in appreciation of the support and cooperation it received throughout 2025.
The visit, which took place on Wednesday, was led by the Acting State Chairperson of POWA, Mrs Eno Mantu, who expressed deep gratitude to the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD, and the Command’s leadership for their encouragement, cooperation, and logistical support that ensured the successful implementation of the Association’s welfare programmes during the year.
During the visit, the POWA leadership formally presented its Outline of Proposed Activities for 2026, which includes welfare programmes for police families, skills acquisition initiatives, health and educational support, community outreach, and advocacy efforts aimed at strengthening family stability and support for police officers.

The association pledged continued collaboration with the Anambra State Police Command in promoting discipline, professionalism, and community-friendly policing.
POWA reaffirmed its commitment to complementing the Command’s efforts through welfare-driven initiatives designed to improve the well-being of officers and their families.

In his response, the Commissioner of Police commended POWA for its resilience, dedication, and impactful contributions to the welfare of police families and the larger community. He assured the association of the Command’s continued support, stressing that strong family support systems play a vital role in boosting officers’ morale and operational effectiveness.
The visit featured the presentation of a gift to the Commissioner of Police, goodwill messages, cordial interactions, and a renewed commitment to partnership, reflecting the harmonious relationship between the Anambra State Police Command and the Police Officers’ Wives Association.
