…AS ASSOCIATION FELICITATES WITH THEM ON SALLAH CELEBRATIONS
The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), an umbrella body of security news publishers, has called on the Muslim community to continually pray for Nigeria as she grapples with security challenges.
The charge was contained in a press statement signed by the Association’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Eric Elezuo.
The Association expressed its heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah and called for peace and unity in the country.
While wishing the Muslims hassle-free celebrations, urged them to imbibe the peaceful tendencies of Prophet Muhammad so as to extricate the country and the society from the chains of insecurity and man’s inhumanity to man.
“It is with the deepest sincerity that we felicitate and congratulate our dear brothers and sister in Islam, wishing that Allah grant everyone a peaceful celebration.
“We also called on everyone celebrating to remember and pray for Nigeria as she grapples with security challenges, and also give our leaders the foresight to tackle the menace.”
The Association further called on the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, to, as a matter of urgency, begin a definite crackdown on all suspected hideouts of insurgents, thereby taking the battle to the enemies and forestalling future terrorist attacks to avoid such occurrence as the Kuje Prison terrorists attack that happened during the week,” the statement noted.
In his words, the President of the Association, Mr. Samson Oki, assured that the group would continue to uphold the tenets of pure journalism, with special emphasis on security reporting, which will in turn keep the nation together.
He urged all to have a splendid celebration, be very alert to immediate surroundings, and report every suspected unpleasant situation to the nearest security agency or a Police station.
