The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has congratulated newly promoted personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), urging them to view their elevation not merely as a change in rank but as a call to higher responsibility and service to the nation.
Air Marshal Aneke gave the charge while addressing Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) recently promoted with effect from September 1, 2025.
“Promotion is not just about rising in rank; it is about rising to greater expectations,” he said. “You have earned this through hard work and sacrifice. Now is the time to give even more to your country and to the Service.”
The Air Chief noted that with every promotion, the Nigerian Air Force grows stronger and more effective in its operations, reflecting an institution built on merit, discipline, and devotion to duty. He described the promotion exercise as a defining moment that strengthens the Service’s professionalism and morale.

“Each elevated airman and airwoman represent renewed strength and national confidence in the Force’s mission to protect and serve,” he added.
Aneke emphasized that the 2025 promotion process was transparent and merit-based, consistent with the standards of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. He assured personnel that those who have completed their required technical or professional courses would be duly considered in subsequent reviews.
Reiterating his leadership philosophy anchored on motivation and mentorship, the CAS stressed that morale remains a decisive factor in operational success.
“Our personnel are our greatest asset. When they are motivated, our operations become sharper, our decisions smarter, and our impact greater,” he stated.

According to him, a motivated and well-trained force is essential to sustaining the NAF’s operational edge and ensuring national security amid emerging threats.
The 2025 promotion, he said, aligns with the Service’s broader commitment to professionalism, welfare, and career development—pillars he described as critical to nurturing the next generation of leaders.
As the newly promoted personnel assume their roles, Air Marshal Aneke urged them to embrace their new ranks with humility, diligence, and renewed dedication to duty.
“Let your new ranks reflect greater humility, responsibility, and dedication,” he charged. “Together, we will continue to soar higher—for the flag, for the Force, and for the future of our nation.”
