The Police Service Commission (PSC) today, Wednesday, September 20, 2023, received a team from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and the World Bank for an extended briefing and evaluation of the Government’s new Policy on assessment of public servants.
Head, Press and Public Relations of PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, in a statement, said the new assessment policy, named the Performance Management System has received the approval of the Federal Government to replace the former assessment technique called APER.
The Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Commission, Dr. Ifeoma Adaora Anyanwutaku who welcomed the team to the Commission assured them that the Commission will be ready for the implementation of the new Policy.
Dr. Anyanwutaku said the Commission will key into the new system and use it effectively to drive the Commission’s workforce.
She commended the visiting team for coming to explain the intentions of the Government on the new appraisal policy and its workability.
A Consultant on the Project from the World Bank, Ms. Busola Alofe, who led the delegation thanked the Commission, an oversight agency on the Police for its hard work to ensure that Nigeria is still one in the face of global security threats.
Alofe said the team was in the Commission to assist it understand the dynamics of the new Policy and ensure it meets the deadline.
