…PARTNERSHIP EXPANDS CONNECTIVITY ACROSS AFRICA, THE MIDDLE EAST, AND ASIA
Qatar Airways and Air Algérie have announced a new codeshare partnership that will enhance travel connectivity between Algeria, Asia, and the Middle East through Hamad International Airport in Doha. Travellers can begin booking codeshare flights immediately for travel commencing 15 November 2025.
Building on their existing interline agreement, the new codeshare will give Qatar Airways customers easier access to Algiers and six key domestic destinations in Algeria: Annaba, Constantine, Oran, Tamanrasset, Timimoun, and Tindouf. Members of the Qatar Airways Privilege Club will also be able to earn Avios on Air Algérie-operated codeshare flights.
Similarly, Air Algérie passengers will gain expanded access to destinations in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Muscat via Doha, with plans to include additional cities in the near future.
Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer at Qatar Airways, said:
“We are delighted to expand our partnership with Air Algérie through this new codeshare agreement, further strengthening our presence across key African markets. This collaboration will offer travellers greater choice and seamless connectivity to the Middle East and Asia.
It also reflects our ongoing commitment to deepening strategic partnerships that enhance global connectivity to and from Africa through Hamad International Airport — voted ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ for 11 consecutive years and ‘World’s Best Airport’ in 2021, 2022, and 2024.”
Samy El Karim Boutemadja, Head of the Commercial Division at Air Algérie, added:
“This codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways allows Air Algérie to enhance its positioning in the Middle East and Asia by offering our customers greater access to new destinations while promoting travel to Algeria. It marks another important step in Air Algérie’s global strategy to strengthen our network and expand connections through our Algiers hub.”
The partnership underscores Qatar Airways’ growth strategy in Africa, where the airline currently maintains 30 interline and six codeshare agreements with regional carriers and operates 213 weekly flights to 30 cities in 21 countries.
