The Old Students’ Association, Command Day Secondary School (CDSSJ), Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, popularly called “Ex-Commandos,” has announced the election of new executives to lead its alma mater for the next three years.
One of the newly elected officers is the Gatmash News Publisher, Theresa Moses, as the National Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Ex-Commandos.
Also, a new President of the association has been elected. He is Mr. Emmanuel C. Onyeme, while Mrs. Emily Sawyer is elected as the Vice President; Mr. Samuel Edumo as General Secretary; Mr. Iliya Galadima, Assistant Secretary; Mr. Ameh Achoba Oscar, Financial Secretary; Mrs. Bisi Onabanjo as Treasurer, and Mr. Lasisi Ayobami as Auditor.
Other executives are Mr. Cosmos A. Akpomejevwe, as Director of Socials, D.O.S. A. Akpomejevwe, as Director of Socials, D.O.S, and Miss. Talison Grace, Provost.
Their elections followed a resounding successful second Annual General Meeting, AGM/Election held on September 29th, 2023, at the school premises in Jos.
The election which witnessed a large turnout of dedicated alumni, expressed commitment to upholding the values and traditions of their alma mater.
The newly elected executives were drawn from different walks of life such as licenced Custom agents, Journalists, Accountants, Auditors, and IT specialists, amongst others.
The exciting announcement came on the heels of an unforgettable reunion event, which saw alumni from different generations coming together to reminisce, network, and renew their commitment to the values and legacies of their esteemed alma mater.
The reunion did not only strengthened the sense of community but also showcased the dedication of alumni to the school’s mission and vision.
The newly elected executives, in renewed hope and aspiration, are ready to hit the ground running and activate every arsenal to lead the association to greater heights with a view to achieving its aims and objectives for which it was formed.
The chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Michael Ahidjo, while congratulating the newly elected individuals, expressed gratitude for their willingness to take on these vital roles, as their passion, experience, and commitment will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth and success of the association.
It would be recalled that “The association is dedicated to fostering lifelong connections among alumni, supporting our school’s educational mission, and giving back to the community. Under the leadership of our newly elected executives, we look forward to advancing these goals and maintaining the strong legacy of our school,” he added.
In his inaugural speech, the elected Chairman said the association remains dedicated to fostering lifelong connections among alumni, supporting the school, and making a positive impact on the community.
“We encourage all alumni to join us and stay engaged with the association’s activities in the coming months,” he said.
In his farewell speech, the outgoing President, Mr. Ibrahim Uduans congratulated and wished the newly elected executives a successful tenure.
“Together, we can continue to make a positive impact on our alma mater and the community at large.”
