Respite has come the way of a 10-year-old boy who was chained by his step-mother with animals for two years as he was rescued from the jaw of death by a Human Right Activist in Kebbi state.
According to the Founder and Managing Director of Divine Grace Foundation, Grace T. Koko with hashtag #justice for Jibril”, said the boy was chained with animals for two years by his stepmother for an undisclosed offence.
Incidentally, it was learnt that, the father of the boy lives in the same house where Jibril was chained.
Posted on her Facebook wall, Grace revealed minute details of the boy. He was said to have lost his mother two years ago.
However, since then, he was said to have been denied shelter, clothing, and food, not to talk of health care as he fed from the remnants met for animals.
At the moment, Jibril is said to be undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State.
Grace explained that, “He (Jibril) was maltreated by these same people like an animal to the extent that he was feeding on the remnant food until he was rescued.
“As a result of monstrous and nefarious treatment, Jibril was subjected to, he entirely lost his senses and behaves exactly like an animal,” She added.
Although not much was revealed about the father and step-mother, it was gathered that “his father was living in the same house with them while the teenage boy underwent the “inhumane, cruel and savage treatment.”
Explaining the fate of the culprits after the rescue, she said that, “His two stepmothers, together with his father are currently in police custody while the 10 years old Jibril is undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi.”
Describing the callousness of the step-mother, Grace said, “What happened to Jibril is the highest level of barbarity and extreme cruelty.
“This is the kind of act blacks suffered from whites in the era of the slave trade. This is not just child abuse, it is slavery.
“The heart of man, is, indeed, wicked. What could this small boy have done to the stepmother to give him such terrible treatment? This is the highest level of maltreatment of fellow human being that I have seen in my life.
“The woman must be punished and brought to book,” Grace Koko reiterated.
