Sangdid Foundation, an organization based in Lagos empowered more than 100 widows during the 2023 yuletide season.
Founded by Barr. (Mrs.) Ndidiamaka Akpaumontia, the Foundation is a total package for the father, mother and children.
Mrs. Akpaumontia is a woman with a heart of gold, whose philanthropy services are centred on the widows and their families whom she gives succour every year through her outreach.
Saturday, December 16, 2023, was one of such times when she touched the lives of over 100 widows and women at St. Christopher’s Military Church, Ikeja Cantonment.
Addressing the women who had gathered in their numbers, Barr. (Mrs.) Akpaumontia welcomed them with words of advice to them not to see the death of their husbands as a setback, but they should live each day with the Word of God so that they can take care of the children their husbands left for them.
Highlights of the event were the free medical treatments for the widows and their families, free optical check-ups by qualified Doctors and free eye-glasses. Christmas gifts ranging from rice, beans, grains, pepper, good portions of meat and other goodies were shared with all present for the event.
Children were not left out. Vitamins were given to them for their well-being Praises were showered on this great philanthropist, Mrs. Akpaumontia by the beneficiaries. One of them, Mrs. Alice Nathaniel said Mrs. Akpaumontia has compassion for women, especially the widows. Mrs. Nathaniel continued that each year she takes part as a beneficiary, she is always going home with a smile on her face because of the free medical treatments and the gift items she benefits from. She prayed to God to continue to bless her and her family.
In her remarks, Barr. Akpaumontia said she looks forward to reaching out to women in other States while building up Lagos outreach to become bigger and to empower more women.
