SIGNALS COMMANDER VISITS

In a bid to provide effective communication for the ongoing operations, the Commander Corps of Signals (CCS), Major General Nosakhare Ugbo has visited 8 Division/Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) with a view to assessing Signals troops and their preparedness for the future.

In his remarks, the CCS said the visit was in line with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede’s directive for Corps Commanders to always interact with troops and carry out on-the-spot assessment as it affects their various corps.

Adding that it would assist him in assessing the general operational performance of Signals troops, their preparedness for future tasks across the entire spectrum of the Sector, as well as their challenges.

He commended the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, for his professionalism, guidance, and high level of discipline exhibited by the troops under his command while discharging their constitutional roles.

Major General Ugbo assured the GOC, who was represented by the Commander 8 Division Garrison, Brigadier General Jibia Muhammad, of his continuous support at all times in the provision of effective communication in its ongoing operations to combat the menace of security challenges across his Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Earlier, receiving the CCS, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division and Commander Sector 2 OPFY, Major General Ibikunle Ajose noted that communication is key to a successful military operation.

He thanked the CCS for the visit while highlighting the tremendous achievements recorded by troops of the Division against criminal elements in the AOR, reiterating the Division’s determination to restore lasting peace across the AOR.
