Like a thunderbolt, they hit the runway with alluring and non condescending manner.
With intermittent ovation, and resounding applause from the audience that thrung the massive hall located at Plot 1, Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Lagos they shone like colossus as the northern star.
They stunned the audience with their irresistible and well crafted locally designed embroidery fabrics showcasing their latest collectives that spoke the perfect language of modern and well curated designs.
The much-anticipated “Presentation Stage”, an additional input in GTCO Fashion Weekend, left no one in doubt as it met the expectation of business moguls, fashion enthusiasts and designers using the opportunity of the GTCO “Presentation Stage” to booster their skills and learn more designs.
It was an empowerment of African fashion entrepreneurs, offering one of the African finest and most valuable opportunity for hundreds of local fashion enterprises to expand their business frontiers thereby maximizing profit.
It was a big “plus” for GTCO as attendees commended GTCO for the brilliant initiative which clearly reflected the “Nigerianness” in fabrics, designs and embroidery, making them as one of the African finest in recent times, especially when juxtaposed with other fashion shows in Africa continent.
Olamilekan Yemi was emphatic when he said, “I have attended several GTCO Fashion Weekend but 2024 edition is impeccable.”
Asked why the impeccability, he added, “I have seen a lot of innovations, new designs for both the old and Gen Z, despite the price surge, they were brilliant in their presentations, conceptualization. They domesticated it to reflect the Nigerianness. Kudos to GTCO Fashion Weekend.”
Just as Jewel Jamila was fantastically amazing in her display, Ninie was extraordinarily gorgeous. To Lohije, his movement was electric, signifying the “Lagosianness” and Nigerianness” in him.
Jamila with her luxurious brands has quantum of visibility, and her collections were quiet ravishing, astonishing and stunning showcase of her craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Ninie’s collection was a masterclass elegantly made perfect and comfortable for the modern woman.
To Lohije, her presentation reflected African culture, with avalanche of bold prints, bright colours and attention to details. The Lagos-based designers with traditional taste in African textiles for contemporary ecosystem.
