Diplomat Jonathan Ojadah, Global President of the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC), has conferred on Oba Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal Bello, the prestigious title of “Commander of Peace” (COP) during a courtesy visit to him in his palace.
As part of the accoutrements, he received a medal, a certificate of honour, and a symbolic stand of office, in recognition of his Grassroot Community Engagement and Human Capital Development through Sports in Contribution to Sustainable Peace Building in Isheri Olofin Kingdom, Alimosho Lagos State, Nigeria.
In his address, Ambassador Ojadah expressed his admiration for the king: “On behalf of the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council, I extend our warm regards to His Royal Majesty for his hospitality. I represent an international body committed to fostering peace and promoting good governance globally.
“Our mandate focuses on critical Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as poverty eradication, quality education, sustainable peace, strategic partnerships, and identifying reputable personalities in society. We are proud to associate with you as a distinguished and elite king.”
UNIPGC is a Diplomatic Civil Society organization registered in the US with Continental chapters in Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa.
The courtesy visit to the newly crowned Onisheri of Isheri, His Royal Majesty Oba Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal Bello, Ilufemiloba Aremo Olofin Ogunfunminire, Olanwa 1 Olofin V took place on Tuesday, January 22, 2025.
Marshal Jonathan Ojadah, a respected global diplomat, businessman, humanitarian, and philanthropist; having engaged in high-level Peace and reconciliation dialogues with the European Union (EU), African Union (AU), and United Nations (UN) has earned several accolades including the Joe Biden 2024 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, Euroknowledge Leadership Award which was conferred on him at the British Parliament, House Of Lords, London, UK and the FIN/FORBES Best Of Africa Award.
He has an impressive academic and professional record, including a Master’s in Leadership and Business Management from CIML Business School, Delaware, USA, MBA in International Relations and others. He currently serves as the Head of African Mission for the International Royal Diplomatic Club of the United Nations located in Lithuania, EU and currently as the organization’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Ambassador Jonathan Ojadah further announced the king’s inclusion in the UNIPGC Advisory Council under the Committee of Culture & Tradition, cementing his global stature.
He also extended another Award, the DOCTOR OF PEACE, an Honorary Doctorate in Peace and Conflict Management, which will be conferred on the king by the American University of Peace and Governance (AUPG) USA.
In addition, the king and kingdom representatives have been invited to participate in the Three-Day Executive MBA Masterclass for free.
The workshop/masterclass is titled: THE ROLE OF ADAPTIVE LEADERSHIP AND ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION (ADR) MECHANISMS FOR CONSOLIDATING PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE IN AFRICA as Participants will be Certified by the American University of Peace and Governance (AUPG), USA.
The training will provide actionable strategies to promote unity, collaboration, and sustainable development across Africa. The Executive MBA Masterclass is designed to empower participants with the knowledge and skills to foster peaceful and secure environments.
The masterclass is open to serving and retired armed forces personnel, civil servants, religious leaders, Policy Makers, diplomats, Students, community leaders, and corporate Executives and will take place at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) from Wednesday, April 2nd, to Thursday, April 3rd, 2025.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal Bello will be honored along with other African Leaders on Saturday 5th Of April, 2025 at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Oshodi, Lagos Nigeria.
Several testimonies highlighted the king’s impactful contributions to Isheri Olofin Kingdom, including: Sponsoring 180 students for JAMB forms (a prerequisite for university entrance exams in Nigeria) and scholarships; Organizing computer coding sessions and quiz competitions for youth; Donating ₦3 million towards a transformer project; Distributing relief packages to the elderly during Ramadan and Introducing empowerment schemes to uplift the community among others.
In response, His Royal Majesty Oba Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal Bello commended Ambassador Ojadah’s dedication to global peace and governance.
“Your Excellency, you are a beacon of hope and a consolidator of peace. Your leadership inspires us. I am committed to adopting mechanisms to promote peace, education, and cultural development in Isheri Olofin Kingdom. Religious tolerance and the preservation of tradition remain central to my reign.”
His Royal Majesty Oba Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal Bello used the opportunity to present Ambassador Jonathan Ojadah with over five symbolic artifacts, including the “Olofin Ogunfunminire”, in appreciation of his visit to the kingdom.
The event featured vibrant cultural displays and an atmosphere of joy, reflecting the rich heritage of the Isheri Olofin resKingdom. The day concluded with photo sessions and a ceremonial royal escort, marking a momentous occasion for the community.
However, His Excellency, Amb. Dr. Jonathan Ojadah in the next few days shall be paying a courtesy visit on the newly appointed ALAAFIN OF Oyo Kingdom.
