By Alex Olise
The Officer Commanding (OC) Chaplaincy of the Lagos State Police Command, Superintendent Of Police (Ven) Ezekiel Ugbotor has advised Officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command to put God first in order to maintain victory while carrying out their official duties at all levels.
He gave the advice at the Weekend during this year’s Chaplaincy Anniversary Celebration and Special Prayer Summit which was held at the Prince Of Peace Chapel inside Police College, Ikeja Lagos State.
According to Ugbotor, “God is the key to every successful operations carried out by any Police personnel in the Service.” He noted that the Bible had made it very clear that except that the Lord build a City or watches over a City those that watch, watches in vain.
He further enjoined them to always acknowledge the Almighty God and his Supremacy. “When you put God first he takes over your challenges,” he reiterated.
Ven. Ugbotor further explained that when you put God first he works in your favour and victory is sure, adding that when one commits everything to God’s hand and be willing to obey his command, God will always be willing to do more.
In his sermon titled: “Mercy of God Will Settle Our Case” which was delivered by a renowned Man of God, Prophet Chike Okonne observed that the topic was in tune with the theme of the anniversary celebration titled: “Policing In The Fear Of God.”
He told the gathering that in life, the battle must come before the breakthrough. According to him, “gone are the days we police with charms. It now time to surrender all to the Almighty God so that he will take absolute control of the operations of the Nigeria Police Force.”
He noted that when Mercy of God follows anyone, that person will become bold like Lion, buttressing it with great men in the Bible like King David and Daniel.
Also in attendance was Evangelist Fred Igbomor, M. D. Senmor Worldwide Property Limited; who in an interview with our correspondent called on all Police personnel to allow God take the lead in their life and general operations.
Igbomor, also advised Nigeria Youths to be moral and desist from any immoral act capable of bringing the bad image to the Country.
The Commandant, Police College Ikeja, CP Ashafa Adekunle told the gathering that the success he has recorded so far is because he put God first.
He, therefore, urged all Personnel to allow the Almighty God be in control of every activity concerning their daily operations.
At end of the event, Awards were presented to deserving individuals and corporate organizations who contributed in one way or the other to the success story of the Police Chaplaincy in Lagos State.
