…victim suffers urinary problem

The Baale (Village Head) of Oose Agbedu Ajibawo in Owode-Yewa area of Ogun State, Rasheed Sholabi, has been arrested by the police for having unlawful carnal knowledge of his 15 years old biological daughter.
It was learnt that the father has been sleeping with the girl when she was 11 years old and that the victim, it was revealed lost her mother when she was barely two years old. Since then, the father did not allow her to know or introduce any relative of her late mother to the victim.
As a result, she was left with no option other than continue to stay with her father who used that opportunity to sexually abuse her from time to time.
Confirming the arrest of the Baale, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi on Thursday, said the Baale was arrested following a report by the victim (name withheld).
It was learnt that the adolescent girl had walked into Owode Egbado police station and reported that her father has been having sex with her when she was 11 years old.
She explained that as a result, she now finds it difficult to control her urinary system.
Based on her explanation, Oyeyemi explained that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Owode-Egbado, SP Olabisi Elebute, swung into action and quickly led her men to the place where the Baale was promptly arrested.
However, drama soon played out at the Police Station during interrogation as the Baale Sholabi denied having intercourse with his daughter.
There was a twist, however, when he was confronted by the victim and one of his ex-wife who corroborated the victim’s statement. On hearing that, the suspect fainted and was taken to the hospital where he was resuscitated.
Narrating what culminated to her divorce with the suspect, the ex-wife informed the police that she once caught him red-handed having sex with his daughter and that was the reason why she left him.
At the moment, the victim has been taken to Stella Obasanjo motherless baby home for safety.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun has ordered the transfer of the suspect to the anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for an in-depth investigation and diligent prosecution.
