The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, Isidore C. Chikere has reassured the National Human Rights Commission of the Command’s determination to partner with the agency on the promotion, protection, and enforcement of human rights in the State.
Comdt. Isidore made this pledge on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, while receiving Barrister Obinna Maduforo, the State Coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission, Anambra State on a courtesy visit at the State Command Headquarters Awka.
Comdt. Chikere, in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Okadigbo Edwin, stated that NSCDC acknowledges and remains a reliable ally in the fight against human rights violations, hence would collaborate with relevant stakeholders in monitoring and enforcing human rights standards.
In his remarks, Barr. Maduforo stated that his visit was to familiarize himself with the State Commandant and work out a joint formidable partnership in the promotion and protection of human rights.
He expressed his gratitude to the State Commandant for granting him an audience in recognition of the fact that both agencies are duty-bound to ensure that human rights abuses and violations are completely eradicated.
