The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Professor Uche Ikonne has pledged to run an all-inclusive government when elected into office in 2023.
Professor Ikonne who gave these assurances while receiving leaders and stakeholders of Abia Infrastructural Mandate at his UcheNdiAbia work station Umuahia analysed some of his achievements in promoting participatory governance where all will be part of his government.
He assured them of his plans to deliver quality leadership to Abians which he exhibited during his tenure as Vice-Chancellor and Rector respectively, promising to promote regional development that will enhance economic growth, especially in Aba the economic hub of the Eastern region.
He charged them to think beyond infrastructural developments and never to engage in political rancour as well unnecessary propaganda that will not promote the peaceful atmosphere which Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has put in place.
He also used the opportunity to unveil his ‘Tiger Economy’ blueprint, which will assist in modifying Abia to an enviable standard. The guber hopeful charged them to be committed to ensuring victory for all PDP candidates.
Speaking at the visit, the leader of the delegation and chairman of the association, Arc. Eme Uche said that they have come to interact with Professor Ikonne on his agenda for Abians, especially on the aspect of infrastructural development, describing the group as a non-partisan group that will partner with the government to galvanise support and give solutions to problems affecting the state on infrastructural development.
In a vote of thanks, Engr. Odo Ijere thanked Professor Uche Ikonne for the warm reception and assured him of their maximum support towards the actualization of his plans for a better Abia, and prayed to God to grant him victory in the coming election.
The Director PDP State campaign council and DG UcheNdiAbia campaign organisation, Rt Hon. Chinedum Elechi, Rt Hon. Uzo Azubuike, Hon. Jude Udeachara, Chief Noble Odoemelam, Dr. Iyke Nwakauche, Mr. Victor Onyendi, among others, were present during the visit.
