WESTERN NAVAL COMMAND LAVISHES FREE MEDICAL SERVICES ON MARINE BRIDGE RESIDENTS

Western Naval Command Lavishes

The Western Naval Command, Nigerian Navy has conducted a free Medical Rhapsody on residents of Marine Bridge, Apapa as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) and end-of-the-year activities in Apapa, Lagos.

The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Mike Oamen, who was represented by the Deputy Command Administrative Officer, Captain FI Uchime conducted the free Medical Rhapsody for the indigent citizens of the area.

The FOC noted that the essence of the medical rhapsody was to provide vital healthcare services to individuals and residents in the community who may not have regular access to medical facilities.

It was gathered that the Medical provision raised awareness of preventive healthcare practices, promoting overall well-being as well as elicit civil-military relations between the people of Apapa and the personnel of the Nigerian Navy.

In another development, the Logistics Command, Nigerian Navy also conducted free medical services in Delta State.

The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Logistics Command, Rear Admiral C Onyemaobi was represented by the Command Administrative Officer, Commodore MM Epelle conducted a medical rhapsody in Osubi Community, Delta State.

In his remarks, Commodore Epelle stated that the medical outreach is the Nigerian Navy’s age-long custom conducted as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities to strengthen Civil-Military Relations with host communities.

He urged members of the community to leverage the opportunity of the hospital setting brought to the doorstep of their community for a healthier life.

 Beneficiaries had the opportunity to be tested on Blood pressure, dental, and malaria with treatment, distribution of treated mosquito nets, eye checks, medicated eyeglasses and free pharmaceuticals, among other benefits.

There was also a talk by the Command Medical Officer, Captain OO Omole on “The Need for Routine Health Checks for longevity of human life span”.
