As part of activities to mark its ten years of existence in Nigeria’s media space, SECURITY EXPRESS magazine is set to recognise and honour female practitioners in the security and safety industry who have made outstanding contributions over the years.
According to the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, Mr. Frank Oshanugor, arrangements are already in place to celebrate the womenfolk who have shown exceptional interest in the advancement of security and safety in Nigeria either as practitioners in the public security agencies or the fast growing private security sector.
The Editor-in-Chief hinted that the recognition and honour is coming under what is tagged WOMEN IN SECURITY AWARD (WISA); an initiative of SECURITY EXPRESS magazine which is published bi-monthly by Brasoc Communications Limited. Its online version became more active with the lockdown occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic which came with many challenges.
Date of the event is yet to be announced but Oshanugor said it would take place in the first quarter of 2021 to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the magazine which has remained a highly rated specialised publication in Nigeria’s media parlance.
Said he: “I cannot give out the exact date of the event yet since management of Brasoc Communications Limited, publishers of the magazine are still putting things together.”
He promised that in the next few weeks, more details about the event would be made public.
However, he hinted that as part of the proposed one day event, a lecture with a contemporary theme on security and involvement of women would be delivered by a highly rated security scholar in a manner that more female folks would become passionate on security related activities even at a very tender age.
