In his Intensified effort to upscale learning and knowledge acquisition among students on Lagos Island Local Government Area and its neighbouring communities, the Deputy Leader of Lagos Island Local Government and Executive Director of Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation, Hon. Prince TAIWO OYEKAN has presented Scholarships to three most outstanding Students in the Third Edition of the Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation Annual Summer Coaching.
The event took place on Thursday, 29th August, 2024 at the Holy Trinity Primary School, Ebute-Ero, Lagos, Nigeria.
Amidst excitement, Hon. Oyekan gifted N100,000 each to the three students; totaling N300,000 from the Junior and Secondary Categories.
In his speech, the High-Ranking Council Legislator reiterated his commitment to nurturing and empowering the youngsters on the Island to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
“At Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation, we are poised to continually complement efforts of the Lagos State Government in Human Capital Development and Citizens welfare”, Hon. Oyekan said.
He charged the beneficiaries and other students to work harder and concentrate on their studies.
On his part, a Guest Speaker and Lecturer from the University of Lagos, Dr. Olayemi Elegbeleye shared his journey to academic success with the students.
He also outlined practical motivational pills for the attendees. He tasked them on hardwork and good conduct.
A beneficiary, Miss Aishat Salaudeen expressed appreciation to Hon Oyekan. She stated that the Council Deputy Leader has contributed immensely to education development on Lagos Island.
“Hon. Taiwo Oyekan has inspired me and many other students in our Local Government Area”, she said.
Speaking on behalf of the Beneficiaries’ Parents, Mr. Rafiu Olaitan hailed Hon. Oyekan’s unmatched Contributions to Basic Education and Skills Development among Students and Youths On Lagos Island Local Government Area And beyond.
A Petty Trader, whose children attended the Third Edition of the Summer Coaching said Hon. Oyekan’s Education Intervention Initiative has lessened financial burden on her. She prayed and urged him to continue his good deeds.
The Beneficiaries of the Scholarship scheme were Miss Aishat Salaudeen (JSS 3), Master Olaitan Basit (JSS 3) and Miss Mudirat Williams(SS 2).
The students were entertained with Musical Performances and Refreshment.
