Former Force Public Relations Officer, Nigerian Police, CP Frank Odita has been laid to rest in his hometown, Ibusa, Delta State.
Frank, who was the Force Public Relations Officer between 1990 and 1992, and brought a lot of professional touches to public relations of the force, died in Lagos in June at the age of 84 years old.
Bidding him farewell, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on Friday noted that Odita made an indelible mark in the hearts of all who knew him and in the annals of the Nigeria Police Force.
The statement contained in the Force X handle read, “He played a pivotal role in enhancing the image of the Nigeria Police Force and fostering better relations with the media and the community.
“His contributions to the Force will be remembered and cherished.
“As he is laid to rest today, November 3, 2023, in his hometown Ibusa, Delta State, the IGP extends the heartfelt condolences of the Police to his family and loved ones and prays for the repose of his soul.
“He reiterated that he will be remembered with respect and gratitude, and his legacy will continue to inspire us as we strive for excellence in our duties.”
The late CP Frank Odita died on Friday evening at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) after a brief illness.
