MAJOR GENERAL USMAN TAKES CHARGE OF 81 DIVISION

The new General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj Gen MT Usman has assumed Command as the 24th General Officer Commanding 81 Division. He took over from Major General Obinna Ajuwa, who is now the Director General, Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre, l on Monday 24 July 2023 at the Division’s headquarters in Victoria Island Lagos. The Outgoing GOC in his address to the troops of the Division at the 65 Battalion parade ground,  appreciated them for their commitment, and remained disciplined and loyal while urging them to support the new GOC. Similarly, in his maiden address as 24th General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army,  Maj Gen MT Usman acknowledged the remarkable achievements of his predecessor and emphasized the need for continued cooperation and loyalty among the troops.

In addition, he pledged to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in him by the COAS, Mag Gen Taoreed Lagbaja. Highlights of the Handing and Taking over Ceremony included a valedictory address to officers and soldiers, signing of handing and taking over notes, decoration of the new GOC with 81 Division insignia and military accoutrements, lowering and hoisting of the old and new flags respectively.
