The Commander, Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya has lauded the Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for mentoring Corps Members for leadership roles and also empowering them with relevant skills towards self-employment.
He said the Scheme’s Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme has increased the number of self-employed graduates in the country, thereby creating employment opportunities for other youths.
The Commander disclosed today during his familiarization visit to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja.
He particularly expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship between NYSC and the Guards Brigade but solicited more robust collaboration as the new helmsman of the Brigade.
While making his remarks, the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed stated that officers and men of the Brigade have been of tremendous assistance to the Scheme within their areas of operational jurisdiction.
